Empire- Blues -Duo an offshoot of the prominent Perth Blues band “Empire Blues” which formed in 2005. As the title suggests it is an unplugged duo version of the band with Andrew McIlroy on acoustic, electric and dobro guitars/vocals and Alan Dawson on fretless bass, upright stick bass and vocals. Andrew and Alan have performed hundreds of shows together with an infectious familiarity in their playing styles and in the past, have supported countless interstate and overseas artists.
The same principals of Empire Blues apply in that a considerable percentage of the songs focus on humour, social comment and Western Australia.
