known primarily around her hometown of Margaret River as acoustic roots/ pop musician, Emjay Angeni; Emjay’s DJ project ‘CiCi’ is a foray into the vast libraries of music which have shaped her memories and been the soundtrack to adventures, parties and travels over the past decade.

Having grown up in NZ with a strong Polynesian Hip Hop, RnB and Reggae influence and later being deeply affected by the Soca, Dancehal and Afrobeat tunes she heard while spending time in South Africa, CiCi’s sets have something of tropical islands, sensual dance encounters and sweet nostalgia about them.

“I dig music that makes me feel good, that causes me to move almost involuntarily. Its such a sweet feeling when the beat takes over. That’s where I like to take us – out of our heads and into our bodies.”

CiCi returns to Settlers Tavern on Friday, February 21st for a follow up to her latest lauded set – bringing Old School Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, Trop House and Nu-Disco vibes to elevate your mood and facilitate your groove.
