JULIAN JAMES & BECI KATE DUO

Sunday, April 6 @ 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Free Entry

Calling the road home and working tirelessly as full-time musicians, Julian James and Beci Kate are true to life troubadours – living out of a bus whilst enthralling and connecting with audiences across Australia with their mesmeric performances.

Drawing from a diverse palate of alt country, folk, soul and bluegrass, to the bold, smoky undertones of blues and hill country deeply infused in Julian’s musical origins, the spirited duo artfully distills this complex mash of influences down to create a prime blend of Americana.

Surprise and delight await as listeners are whisked away on an audial adventure through the lively streets of New Orleans and the sweaty juke joints of Mississippi, to the honky-tonks of Tennessee and the whiskey-drenched porches of Appalachia. Julian’s high-energy musicianship is a show in itself, showcasing his resonant voice and unique style of guitar finger-picking, alongside spirited slide and harmonica playing. The addition of Beci Kate, his vibrantly talented wife, elevates the show to new heights with captivating harmonies, groove-driven percussion and their palpable on-stage chemistry. Whether delivering thoughtfully crafted originals or paying homage to the greats, their sound is rich with the soul of the South, whilst imbued with their own distinctive flavour through the dynamic, contemporary flair they have become known for.

From their most intimate, toe-tapping gigs, to their unforgettable performances at prominent festivals such as Woodford Folk Festival, Blues on Broadbeach and Tamworth Country Music Festival, amongst many others – Julian James and Beci Kate have fast become an unmissable act on the live music scene for even the most discerning connoisseur of the finest Americana.
