New Years Day – Publicans & Sinners

Mike Goodwin is a familiar face of the music scene in his hometown of Margaret River. A regular on the local stages for some 25 years, though it wasn’t till relatively recently that Mike began to record and play his own original songs.

In 2018/19 Mike was a WAM “Song of the Year” finalist in the country category for “I’ll Be Gone”, then again in 2020 for “As if you were there”. In 2020 Mike was a finalist in the Male, EP and Songwriter categories at the West Australian Country Music Awards, where he won In the Songwriter category. In 2022 he was again a finalist in the best male and video clip categories where, along with co-producer, wife Ange, they were successful in the video category.

Drawn to sounds from the past, Mike’s blends a unique baritone vocal with tight rhythms and retro flavoured pop, folk and country music.

Joined by Maestro Kev McDonald, guitarist/bassist extraordinaire, the duo looks forward to entertaining the crowd on the first day of a fresh new year.
